Thank you so much to all our wonderful volunteers!
Without your help we would not be able to offer the support and care to
the older isolated older people in our local communities.

Befriender Training.
We will be running Befriender Training soon. Training can be delivered day time, evening or weekends and is booked around your availability,  please contact us for more information or to book your place. Our Befriending scheme offers members direct contact with a volunteer. A volunteer will develop a one to one relationship with the scheme member and visit them in their home. The volunteer and member will be matched and will hopefully have similar family circumstances, work experience or interests to share. Interested in volunteering but not sure about visiting people in their own homes?

We are currently offering a 'Phone Buddy' scheme where trained volunteers call our members each week for a chat on the phone. A simple telephone call each week can help ease the feelings of isolation and be a great mood lifter for people who live on their own and may have little contact with other people.

All volunteers have to supply references, undertake a Disclosure and Barring Services check and sign a confidentiality statement.
Please contact Mandy Farr on 0113 2880887 or email on: if you or someone you know would like an informal chat to discuss our volunteering opportunities further or request a volunteer application pack.

Dementia Friends Information Sessions
The Alzheimer's Society's Dementia friends programme is an initiative to change peoples perceptions of dementia.

An Information Session is a face-to-face session that lasts 45-60 minutes and is run by a Dementia Friends Champion, which anyone can attend to learn a little more about dementia.

If you are interested in becoming a Dementia Friend, or would like a little more information, then please contact Mandy on: 0113 2880887 or email:
